What is the Philadelphia Faith?

The term Philadelphia comes from the Book of Revelation ch. 3:7-13. To the Christian who strives for the best he or she can be these few verses are among the greatest passages of scripture. To them it is comfort to know that by the rigors of living by faith the Philadelphian can live a pure faith, like that of the great heroic figure, King David.

Philadelphia means: Brotherly Love. This is an important tag: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:35. Paul put it this way in a letter to Timothy; "Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling." 1Tim 1:5-6. Sounds so simple; told us in so few words. There are degrees of nearness to God which the Christian can attain. Later in Revelation there are 144,000 who will be joined to Christ forever as if they were married and they will forever be with Him 'withersoever He goes'. These faithful make up the Bride of Christ and the way they can best be assured to attain to this Brideship is to live a Philadelphian’s Faith.
The Philadelphia Faith consists of much more than just accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. It is more than being baptized in the Holy Ghost and exercising spiritual gifts. It is more than doing good works for the Lord. It is more than evangelizing and bringing others to salvation. These are all part of the makeup of a Philadelphian, but only a foundation upon which the ‘highest calling in Christ Jesus’ must rest.

                                                       SOME ESSENTIALS OF THE PHILADELPHIAN:
1.) Total submission to the one Jesus sent, the Holy Ghost.
2.) Full separation from the three enemies of the soul Satan, World and Self.
3.) Complete reliance on the faith that God will provide for all needs, including faith.
4.) A readiness to repent when the Lord reveals the need.
5.) Allowing God to extinguish everything within the soul and spirit that hinders loving Him.
6.) Willingness to learn to love one's neighbor as oneself and then do it.
7.) Anticipation of the Lord’s promised return to Rapture those who have readied themselves.

How one attains to these fundamental and high things is the crux of the Philadelphian Faith. One cannot succeed simply by learning about them in God’s Word, or by instruction, or earning them through diligent 'good works'. The Philadelphia Faith is accomplished only when one draws near to God and seeks to follow His Voice in all things.
Our website is dedicated not only to teaching how one completes the journey to Brideship, but how to stay on the path of the prize of Brideship by the perfection Christ expects in His espoused wife. In these pages you will find our humble attempts to express what the Lord has revealed to us through the many decades as we have walked as Philadelphians.  Philadelphians are of little worldly strength. So it says in the letter addressed to them in Revelation.
We leave the perspective Philadelphian with a quote from the end of the Bible. You might well call it 'God’s Final Invitation'. "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely….. He which testifies these things says, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."  Rev. 22.17,20
